Systems Navigator worked together with Canadian company Trellisys to develop a model that supports the capital expenditure decision for the procurement and configuration of new equipment on an oil sands project. The decision support system determined the optimal capacity of the required surge bins, froth tanks and dilbit tanks and measured the impact of improved equipment reliability and a change in operations on synthetic crude oil production.
