The flexible approach of a discrete-event simulation solution, allowed the Canal Istanbul “crazy project” to be effectively studied by analyzing different design alternatives before making strategic decisions. Systems Navigator assisted the project team in the analysis of the performance of the new canal under various forecasted traffic volumes allowing the megaproject to invest their capital in the most efficient way.
